Obituary for Lloyd Nellor

Funeral services for Lloyd Nellor age 82 of Beemer, NE will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer, NE. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Beemer Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Beemer and will continue on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Lloyd passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Pender Community Hospital.

Lloyd Gene Nellor was born on November 13, 1931 at Beemer, NE to Harry and Ida (Raasch) Nellor. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beemer, NE. Lloyd attended Cuming Co. Rural School District #19 and graduated from Beemer High School in 1949. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln from 1949-1950. Lloyd served in the United States Army from January of 1953 until January of 1955. He returned to Beemer and has been farming north of Beemer since 1956. On November 23, 1968, he was united in marriage to Janice Hoyt at the Methodist Church in Culbertson, NE.

Lloyd was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, holding various offices, was a member of Beemer American Legion Post #159, and was a Farm Bureau member. He served on the District #19 School Board, holding all the offices, served on the Board of Directors for 28 years of the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District, and was a 4-H leader of the Go Getters 4-H Group. Lloyd had loved to go fishing in Canada.

Survivors include-
Wife- Janice Nellor of Beemer, NE
Daughter- Barbara Nellor Hart of Lynch, NE and her son Alex
Son- James Nellor of Beemer, NE
Son- Dale and wife Dianne Nellor of Arlington, VA and their son Samuel

Lloyd is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter-Regan Hart, Sisters- Norma and husband Dale Vierson and Arrel and husband Carl Heitmann.
