Funeral services for Vernice "Vickie" (Mrs. Norris) Schwartz age 90 of Wisner, NE will be on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE with Rev. Robert Schilling officiating. Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at church.

Vicky passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Wisner Care Center.

Vernice Esther Martha Victor was born on March 12, 1927 in Wayne Co., NE to Fred and Anna (Bartels) Victor. She was baptized on March 27, 1927 by Rev. Borneman and later confirmed on May 19, 1940 by Rev. Brackensieck at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne, NE. Vickie attended Wayne County Rural School. She was employed as a salesperson prior to her marriage.

On February 18, 1945, she was united in marriage to Norris Schwartz at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne, NE. After Norris returned from serving in the Navy, the couple lived on a farm nine miles north of Howells, NE for 40 years. In 1985, they retired and moved to Wisner, NE. In 2014, Vickie entered the Wisner Care Center.

Vickie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, enjoyed singing and sang in various church choirs. She was active and held various auxiliary offices and was a member of the Homemakers Hour Extension Club. Her favorite hobbies were bowling, traveling, and a good bridge game.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-Sandra Paulison, grandson- Troy Paulison, daughter-in-law-Gloria Schwartz, sisters- Verona Frese and Valores Mordhorst, and brothers-Marvin Victor, Clifford Victor and Howard Victor.
