Mass of Christian Burial for Paul Bayer age 54 of Dodge, NE will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE. Interment will be in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church, with a Public Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., and will continue on Monday one hour prior to service. Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge in handling the arrangements for the family. The family suggests that memorials be directed to Dodge Fire and Rescue and the Dodge Vet's Club.

Paul passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.

Paul Robert Bayer was born on November 7, 1961 at West Point, NE to Francis and Ruby (Boubin) Bayer. He attended St. Wenceslaus School, graduated from Dodge High School in 1980, and Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE. Paul was a service technician at Cooperative Supply, Inc. for 30 plus years. He also did handyman work for others in the community and was a bartender at special events.

Paul was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. His pastimes included drag racing, spending time with family and friends, grilling for others whenever he could, and sharing M&M’s with his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed assisting with the Dodge Demolition Derby each year.

Paul is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews, and 3 great nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents- Chris and Leona Bayer and Bohumil and Anna Boubin.
