Obituary for Irma Krueger

Memorial services for Irma Krueger age 88 of Wisner, NE will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present, at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Irma passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Wisner Care Center.

Irma Emma Krueger was born on July 5, 1928 in Stanton Co., NE to August and Friederika (Schroeder) Broekemeier. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, southwest of Wisner. Irma attended St. Matthew’s Parochial School and graduated from Pilger High School in 1946. After high school she began teaching in rural schools and she taught for 30 years in Cuming County School Districts #9, 17, 39, 75, and 16.

Irma was united in marriage to Darold Krueger on June 3, 1951. She had also worked for Lueders Oil Co., for seven years and was the co-manager of the Wisner Senior Citizens Community Center when she retired. Irma has resided at the Wisner Care Center for many years.

She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wisner, where she taught Sunday School, and was a member of its LWML. Irma was a member of Wisner VFW Auxiliary Post #5767 and had served as the chairperson for the Voice of Democracy contest for many years.

Irma and Darold were avid square dancers and enjoyed dancing at any occasion.

Daughter- Pat and husband Jerry Bohnenkamp of Wisner, NE
Granddaughters- Jessica and husband Daryl Wilkerson of Chicago, IL and son Isaiah
Sarah Bohnenkamp of Kearney, NE and children-Nola, Natalya and Arianna

Sister-in-law- Doris Broekemeier of Norfolk, NE
Nephew- Shaun and wife Julie Stout of San Diego, CA

Irma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two children in infancy, two brothers, and a sister.
