Memorial services for Peggy P. Dye age 83 of West Point, NE will be on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Retirement Community Chapel in West Point, NE, with Monsignor Mel Wiese officiating. Interment will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery in West Point, NE. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE.

Peggy passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.

Peggy Paulina Dye was born on February 27, 1933 at Mason City, NE to Charles and Colia (Burnett) Schmid. She grew up in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School in 1950. After graduating she taught at the Swiss Valley School near Broken Bow, NE.

On March 3, 1951, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Dye in Grand Island, NE. The couple moved to Broken Bow, where Peggy worked at the B-D plant and later the couple owned and operated the Bow Bakery for 36 years. In May of 2009, they moved to West Point, where Peggy was a resident of St. Joseph’s Retirement Community.

Peggy enjoyed painting, and decorating cakes. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Daughter- Trudy and Clayton Cooper of West Point, NE
Grandchildren and their families-
Jeff Badberg of York, NE
Amy and Christopher Kolbet of Lincoln, NE and children-Emma and Claire
Miranda and Dana Bell of York, NE and children-Colton and Charles
Scott and Traci Badberg of Lincoln, NE and son-Rowyn

Brother-Dean and Carolyn Schmid of Albion, NE
She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents-Charles and Colia Schmid, son-in-law- Roger Badberg, three brothers and two sisters.
