Obituary for Rodney L. Miller

Funeral services for Rodney L. Miller age 80 of Bancroft, NE will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft, NE with Pastor Michael Belinsky officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery with Military Honors by Bancroft American Legion Post #191. Visitation will be on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is assisting with the arrangements.

Rod passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Edgewood in Fremont, NE.

Rodney Lee Miller was born December 5, 1942 in West Point to William and Alma (Paulsen) Miller.
He was baptized on 1-3-1943 at Zion Lutheran Church. Rodney attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School and was later confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. He graduated from West Point High School in 1960
Rodney served in the US Army from March 26, 1964 until he was honorably discharged on March 25, 1966.

Rodney was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church of rural Bancroft.
He enjoyed golfing and bowling with family and friends. Rod shared a passion for restoring antique tractors and cars with his brother Willis and cousins Delvin and Randy. During the summer he spent his time farming and growing fruits and vegetables to enter for Logan Township at the Cuming County Fair.
Rodney also helped to organize the antique tractor show at the fair and later he served as a board member of the Cuming County Fair Foundation.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents – William and Alma Miller, brother – Willis Miller,sisters – Ardyce Miller and Lavonne Tietz and brother in law Louis Tietz.
