James Paul Heimann was born on December 18, 1958 at West Point, NE to Paul and Mary (Ellis) Heimann. Jim attended Guardian Angels and Central Catholic High School, graduating in 1977. He went on to attend Northeast Community College.

On October 8, 1977, he was united in marriage to Alice Hagedorn at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church-St. Charles. Jim’s lifelong passion was farming and raising livestock, he also worked part-time driving truck for West Point Dairy, HR & S Trucking, and had worked at West Point Implement. Jim “Plow” loved spending time in the combine and raising his fowls, tending to his dogs, and catching mice. Jim could fix anything as one of his many talents. Jim was the “Morning Dad” by getting the kids and friends breakfast, and off to school. Jim and Alice along with Rick and Kyle Grovijohn established the Hideaway Bar and Grill. Jim enjoyed air boating, hunting, having coffee with friends and the occasional fishing trips with buddies. While on the farm, precious time was spent with family and friends on the front porch visiting and having a Budweiser. The last 10 years while living in town, he could not run or dance, he always was a happy man with a warm heart of gold.

Jim was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council #2272, was a member of the West Point Sportsman’s Club, and was a member of the Nebraska Ataxia Foundation.
