Susan Nile Smith
July 11, 1946 – May 2, 2022
Susan Smith was born in Hollywood, California to Isaac William Nicholas and Verne Dolores Lane Nicholas. Susan split time in her youth between Hollywood and Yerington, Nevada. Susan attended Hollywood High School, graduating in 1964. She married Michael Anton Smith in 1965, and was married for over 55 years, before Michael preceded her in death in May 2021. Susan was mother to two loving sons, William Raymond Smith and Michael Christopher Smith, grandmother to five, and great grandmother to three. Susan was an animal lover all her life, and dedicated her private time to the care of her many beloved pets and other rescued animals. Despite spending most of her life in California, Susan considered Nebraska to be her real home, spending many vacations there with family and friends. Susan will be laid to rest with loved ones in Beemer, Nebraska. Graveside service at Beemer Cemetery, 11am, on Friday, 9/2/22.
