Obituary for Eugene Litz
Mass of Christian Burial for Eugene Litz age 80 of Dodge, NE will be on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE with Fr. Matt Gutowski as celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will be in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Wake Service at 7:00 p.m., at St. Wenceselaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE and will continue on Thursday one hour prior to the service. Minnick Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Eugene passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Franciscan Healthcare in West Point, NE.
Eugene Anton Litz was born on May 7, 1942 in Colfax Co., NE to Joseph and Elsie (Schafer) Litz. He grew up in the Monterey and Dodge area and attended Dodge High School. Eugene grew up helping on the family farm. He later drove truck for Steffy’s Transfer, worked at Smeal Fire Apparatus in Snyder for several years, and delivered cars for Farmer’s Garage in Dodge.
On June 20, 1980, he was united in marriage to Louella (Sayers) Rehak in Stanton, NE.
Gene was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, former member of Dodge American Legion Post #122, and was a former member of the Dodge Fire Department.
Survivors include-
Step-son-Duane and Deb Rehak of Howells, NE
9 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren
Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Louella, brother-Edwin (Mary Ann) Litz, sister-Elaine (George) Colitzas, step-sons-Gerald Rehak and Joe (Dorine) Rehak, and a step-daughter-Theresa Johnson.
