Dave passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at his home.

David Lee Schinstock was born December 26, 1952 in West Point, NE to Wilfred and Amy (Rozendal) Schinstock. He was a 1971 graduate of West Point Central Catholic High School. On October 16, 1971, David married “the love of his life” Colette Sitzmann at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hinton, IA. David worked side by side with his father, Wilfred, at the Schinstock Hog Market until 1988. He then worked for Tyson Foods until retiring in 2017. David enjoyed traveling, playing shuffleboard, and bowling. He was known for his generosity to others and telling a joke or two.

Survivors include his wife Colette; sons Chad (Rachel) and Cory (Carie) both of West Point; daughter Alicia (Tony) Conlin of Omaha; grandchildren Jenna, Dylan, Cole, Nicholas, and Devon; brothers Richard (Cynthia) of Fremont, Daniel (Kathy) of Lincoln, Randy (Jean) of Redding, CA, and Robert (Patty) of West Point. Many in-laws, nieces, nephews, honorary brother and sister-Ed and Pamela Holtz and his beloved dog CoCo also survive him.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents-Amy and Wilfred Schinstock, parents-in-law-Eldora and Ralph Sitzmann, and grandson-Michael Landholm.

The family wants to extend a special “Thank You” to our angel in disguise, Shelly Bohlke, we couldn’t have done this without you.
