Obituary for Dennis Buse

Due to unforeseen circumstances the service for Dennis Buse age 72 of West Point, NE will be Private Family Graveside services only. The family suggests that memorials in Dennis' name be directed to the American Veterans Park in West Point, St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point and/or the Archdiocese of Omaha Seminarian Fund. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Dennis passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Franciscan Healthcare in West Point, NE.

Dennis Henry Buse was born on June 23, 1948 in West Point, NE to Arthur and Genevieve (Beyer) Buse. He attended Guardian Angels school and graduated from West Point Central Catholic in 1966. Dennis attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and received his B.S. Degree in Aronomy. Dennis served in the United States Army from December 2, 1970 until he was honorably discharged on November 24, 1972. Upon returning home from the service, he continued to farm with his father.

Dennis was a longtime employee of Grain States Soya in West Point and had also worked for Farm Credit Services for a short time.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, was a 3rd Degree and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, was very active in the West Point Jaycees, attended the West Point Toastmasters, had belonged to the Nebraska Farmers Union since returning home from the military, had was a member of the Cuming County Feeders Association, where he served as Treasurer for over 40 years. Dennis enjoyed fishing and traveling.

Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive Dennis.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents-Arthur and Genevieve Buse, and a sister-Virginia Buse.
