Obituary for Joseph Eichelberger
Private memorial services for Joseph Eichelberger age 68 of Beemer, NE will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Beemer, NE. Public visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE.
Joe passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE.
Joseph Arnold Eichelberger was born March 17, 1952 in West Point, Nebraska to Harold and Marie (Oswald) Eichelberger. He attended Beemer High School and continued his education in Wichita, Kansas earning a degree from Kansas Automotive School in March 1972. He worked as an auto mechanic for over 30 years and drove truck for Eichelberger trucking for the last 14 years. Joe was a volunteer fireman for the last 40 years for Beemer Fire and Rescue. In 2006 he was awarded Firefighter of the year from Cumming county Mutual Aid Association. Joe married Rita Liermann of Beemer, Nebraska on October 6, 1979 at Holy Cross Catholic Church of Beemer. This union produced three wonderful boys Nathan, Jesse and Eric.
Joe enjoyed gardening, playing pool, road trips with Rita on Saturday nights, fishing and hunting. He loved visiting and taking pictures of his grandchildren who softened his tough exterior. He loved being in the sun on his back steps working on his tan lines in his cutoff shorts, no shirt with Budweiser in hand.

Nathan & Mindy Eichelberger and children Braden, Hunter, Tate, Abra & Emma.
Jesse & Sarah Eichelberger and children Conner and Grady.
Eric & Emily Eichelberger and son Breck.
Brothers Ron & family, Roy & family, Glenn & Karen and family.
Preceded in death by his parents Harold & Marie Eichelberger, mother and father in law Virgil & Francis Liermann and sister in law Mary Eichelberger.
