Obituary for Dr. Frank Kowal

Funeral services for Dr. Frank Kowal age 91 of West Point, NE will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery-St. Charles. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service and Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Dr. Kowal passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Espirit Whispering Ridge in Omaha, NE.

Frank Joseph Kowal was born on January 21, 1929 in Omaha, NE to John and Victoria (Cebula) Kowal. He attended school in Omaha and enjoyed playing baseball and soccer. After high school he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha. On January 31, 1951 he was inducted into the United States Army and service until January 14, 1953, when he was honorably discharged. Frank went on to attend Creighton University and received his Doctorate of Dentistry from there.

Frank established his first and only practice in West Point, NE, where he practiced for many years.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, he enjoyed golfing at the Indian Trails Country Club at Beemer, NE, and attending horse races.

Grandchildren-Jason Buerman and children Jax and Jagr; Kristine McCuen and children-Kaylee Jelinek and daughter-Seinna, Kyle McCuen and daughter-Lilly Ann, and Chad Buerman
Brother-Richie Kowal of Omaha, NE

He was preceded in death by his parents-John and Victoria (Cebula) Kowal, children- Mary Ann Buerman and Tom Kowal, siblings-Sr. Mary, Mike, Annie in infancy, Johnny, Joey, Thadius, Tony, Rose, Paul, Rich, and Ed.
