Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and every holiday they would break out a deck of cards to play highly competitive rounds of pitch. He loved woodworking and made decorative cabinets, quilt racks and Christmas creches. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and airboating on the Elkhorn river. The family remembers summer vacations fishing various lakes in South Dakota, Minnesota and the surrounding areas.
