Clarence Joe Tichota was born on December 29, 1938 to Joe L. and Catherine (Walter) Tichota at Beemer, NE. He attended Cuming County Rural School and graduated from Beemer High School in 1956. Clarence served in the United States Army from November 6, 1961 until he was honorably discharged on November 5, 1963. Clarence returned to Beemer and began painting with D & C Painting, which he later became a partner in. He later served as a on the Cuming County Board of Supervisors for 20 years, a position he thoroughly enjoyed.

Clarence was a member of Beemer American Legion Post #159, where for many years he took care of renting the Beemer Ballroom and American Legion Hall, was longtime member of the Beemer Fire Department. Clarence loved to go fishing, play cards, tend to his garden, his ducks and geese, conversing with everyone, which probably started with a joke, and the twinkle in his eye was never brighter than when children where in his company.
