Private family graveside services for Helen Erb age 99 of Pender, NE will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at the Wakefield Cemetery in Wakefield, NE. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is assisting with the arrangements.
Helen passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the Pender Community Hospital.
Helen Anna Erb was born on October 26, 1920 in Beemer, NE to Menno and Mary (Grieser) Erb. She was baptized at the Plum Creek Mennonite Church, rural Beemer, NE. Helen graduated from Beemer High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Wayne State College.
In 1947, Helen moved to Sacramento, CA and began working as a claims adjuster for the Cal West Insurance Company. While in California, Helen was a member of the Fremont Presbyterian Church in Sacramento, CA. She retired in 1982 and returned to Wakefield, NE to care for her mother and attended the Beemer Mennonite Church.
Helen loved spending time with family and enjoyed sewing and painting.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents-Menno and Mary Erb, sister-Pat and husband Vern Niemeyer, and sister-in-law- Mary Lou Erb.
