Obituary for Rose Ann Prinz

A memorial mass celebrating the life of Rose Ann Prinz will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, NE. A reception will follow at the GA Cafeteria, where a donation of a salad or dessert would be appreciated.

Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be directed to the GACC Endowment.

Rose Ann passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at CHI-Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Rose Ann Ella Prinz was born on June 30, 1940 in West Point, NE to Victor and Gertrude (Rief) Peatrowsky.
She attended country school through the 4th Grade and then Guardian Angels, graduating High School in 1958 as the Valedictorian. She played a key role in Bob’s education. She worked at Patterson Creamery prior to her marriage.

On February 20, 1960, she was united in marriage to Robert Prinz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, NE. The couple lived on the farm where Bob grew up from 1960 until moving to town in 2005. Rose Ann had worked at Randel Jewelry for 25 years, and also was also a custom seamstress. Rose Ann taught her daughters, grandchildren, several nieces, and great nieces how to sew over the years.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, its Guild, Catholic Daughters, Christian Mothers, St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary and a Cuming Co. Extension Club. Rose Ann was a 4-H leader with the Wonder Workers 4-H Club, and served as a 4-H Judge for several county fairs over the years. She was an avid Bridge player, belonging to several card clubs including the Pig Out Group. Rose Ann loved to cook and bake, her banana bread was always pre-sold at a number of church functions. She loved to garden, and tend to her flowers. She and Bob never missed a high school sporting event, and enjoyed attending speech and drama performances. They also never missed a day attending the Cuming Co. Fair.

Rose Ann was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren-Gabriel and Faith Neiman, four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and their spouses.
