Obituary for Florence Spoering
Florence Spoering, age 96, of Wisner, NE passed away on April 3, 2020 at the Wisner Care Center in Wisner, NE. A private interment ceremony will be held at the Wisner Cemetery on April 7, 2020, at 10:00 AM. Memorial services will be held at a later date due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The graveside service will be broadcast on the Minnick Funeral Service, Inc. Facebook page.

Florence and her twin sister, Frances, were born on October 7, 1923. Florence was the last surviving child of Fred and Margaret (Krieger) Spoering. She grew up on the family farm outside of Wisner and attended the Cuming County Rural School District 40. After graduating from high school, Florence moved to Omaha for work. She prided herself on her employment accomplishments. Florence enjoyed traveling and often spent time in California with her sister, Myrtle.
Upon retirement she returned to Wisner. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed the Wisner community, and during their senior years lived with her twin sister, Frances. Following an accident in 2013, Florence moved to the Wisner Care Center. Through strong determination, will power, and the support of the Wisner community and her family, Florence was able to return to her home where she lived independently past her 96th birthday.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Harvey Spoering, Henry Spoering, Helen Spoering, Lola Woerman, Dorothy Palu, Myrtle Spoering, Harold Spoering, and her twin sister, Frances. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the special individuals who made it possible for Florence to remain in her home and who provided care at the Wisner Care Center.
