Obituary for Daylin Risch

Funeral services for Daylin Risch will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 10:30am, officiated by Pastor Raymond Doubrava. Visitation Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 5pm-7pm at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Howells, NE with military honors conducted by Albin Folda Post No. 155 of the Howells American Legion. Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge is handling the arrangements.

Daylin Risch, age 53, of Howells, NE passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at his home.

Daylin Boyd Risch was born October 24, 1966 to Kermit and Ethelanne (Boothe) Risch in West Point, NE. He graduated from Howells Public High School in 1985. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in July of 1985. He was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX for three years and Osan, South Korea for 1 year, specializing in power production.

On November 7, 1986 he married his high school sweetheart, Christine Baumert, daughter of James and Marianne (Pimper) Baumert at Trinity Lutheran Church in Howells, NE. They raised three children, Dalton, Devin, and Destiny, along with nephew Matthew and nieces, Jessi and Paige.

Daylin worked in various positions including Risch Incorporated, a family farm business started by his grandfather, IBP in West Point, Leprino Foods in Dodge as an industrial mechanic, and Cargill in Schuyler as a maintenance trainer and electronics technician.

Daylin is survived by his wife Christine of over 33 years, sons Dalton of Fremont, NE, and Devin of Howells, NE, daughter Destiny of Lincoln, NE, nephew Matthew Gooch of Lincoln, NE, nieces Jessi Gooch and family of Norfolk, NE and Paige (Dan) Scott and family of Pilger, NE.

Parents Kermit Risch of Fremont, NE; Ethelanne (Gary) Sherman of Fremont, NE; brothers Doyle (Cathy) Risch of Howells, NE and Dustin (Shayla) Risch of Snyder, NE; father-in-law James Baumert of Howells, NE; brother-in-law Gary (Bernadine) Baumert of Howells, NE; sisters-in-law Deanne (Gary) Ernesti of Omaha, NE and Debra (Dave) Blum of Howells, NE; numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Daylin was preceded in death by his grandparents Fred and Marie Risch, James and Nellie Boothe, great-uncle Otto Risch, stepmother Alberta Risch; mother-in-law Marianne Baumert; sister-in-law Kathy Gooch, and many others dear to our hearts.
