Obituary for Evelyn Stutzman

Funeral services for Evelyn Stutzman age 95 of Beemer, NE will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Beemer Mennonite Church in Beemer, NE with Pastor Lewis Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Beemer Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will continue on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service, both at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is assisting with the arrangements.

Evelyn passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE.

Evelyn Mary Stutzman was born on May 19, 1924 to Ben and Leah (Oswald) Oswald at their farm home, near Beemer, NE. She attended Cuming Co. Rural School District #19. She was baptized and became a member of the Plum Creek Mennonite Church in rural Beemer.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Edward Stutzman on October 31, 1948 at the Plum Creek Mennonite Church. She worked for Ray’s IGA Grocery Store and the First National Bank in Beemer for many years. Ed and Evelyn lived and worked in Cuming County their entire life.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and gardening and making sequin calendars for her friends. Evelyn was a faithful member of the Beemer Bible Study and helped the Mennonite Women make comforters for many years.

Evelyn entered Colonial Have Nursing Home in 2012. She enjoyed making crafts and liked the various activities and church services there. She liked to visit with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Esther Oswald, brothers Ervin and Earl Oswald, and her husband Edward Stutzman. She is survived and loved by her many nieces and nephews.
