Karl Ludwig Maack was born November 27, 1955 to Donald and Audrey (Ludwig) Maack at West Point, NE. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Wisner, and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church, West Point. He attended West Point Schools and graduated in 1975. Karl lived on the farm, helping his parents and doing various jobs until 1978, when he went to work at the West Point News. Karl worked for Dick and Gwen Lindberg and later for Tom and Michele Kelly for a total of 40 years. Karl’s illness forced him to retire in 2018.

Karl moved into his own apartment in West Point in 2011. When he became ill, he moved into his mother’s home in December of 2018.
