Obituary for Carmen Reich

Mass of Christian Burial for Carmen G. Reich age 86 of Milford, NE formerly of West Point, NE will be on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, NE with Fr. Matt Niggemeyer as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the Nielsen Community Center. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., and will continue on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., both at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE.
Carmen passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Tabitha Hospice-Journey House in Lincoln, NE.
Born to Angel and Blasa (Alonso) Garcia in Madrid, Spain April 21, 1933.
She met the love of her life, Erven J. Reich while he was stationed with the US Air Force at Torrejón AB, Spain. They married August 27, 1960 in Madrid, Spain. During Erven’s Air Force career, they lived in Michigan, Spain, and North Dakota. On his military retirement, they moved to West Point to be near his family.
Carmen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, long walks, and traveling.
Carmen was predeceased by her parents, bother Alfonso, and sisters Angelita and Rosa, and husband Erven January 20, 1998.
She is survived by
Daughter Rosa Reich and husband Douglas Shull, and children Melody and Kyle Shull
Daughter Maria Reich and husband Donald Mitchell, and children Casandra (Roth) and husband Trevor Powers, and Jessica Roth, and step-daughter Nichole Mitchell.
Son Michael Reich
Great grandchildren Devlin and Finley Powers.
Sister Maria del Pillar Garcia Munoz, Madrid, Spain.
Nieces and nephews in Spain and United States.
