Eleanor Lucile (Finley) Foust was born on October 5, 1932 in Columbus, NE to Robert and Mildred (Molacek) Finley. She grew up in the Richland/Columbus, NE area on a farm. Eleanor was a very good student and graduated from Columbus High School in 1950, she attended Wayne Normal School and Midland College and went on to teach country school.

On July 7, 1951, she was united in marriage to Willard Foust at the Methodist Church in Schuyler, NE. They were blessed with four children. She stayed home and was a busy homemaker. Eleanor and her family took me into their home my senior year of high school. She was an inspiration to me and kept me on the straight an narrow. One morning after a night of drinking, she looked at me and said "if you want to stay in my house, drinking is not allowed". This moment meant a lot to me because nobody had tried to stop me before.
She used to make my favorite butterscotch dessert. She will always have a special place in my heart!
