Gail demonstrated the traits of an honorable and patriotic man that genuinely loved his family and Wisner.
He always had a smile on his face, was respectful, and ready to lend a hand. But he could be a dedicated and tough man when need be.

One summer Gail's dad (Mutz) hired a crew of six of us to chop burrs. Gail and I were a couple of years the junior to the other four. Mutz provided a strong orientation about what he expected. He made it clear that Gail was in charge. Not long after Mutz left, the older boys became disrespectful and disobedient. One grabbed my wrist watch and tore it off of my wrist.

You could see red in Gail's eyes. He lit into the ring leader and roughed him up. He demanded that they return my watch and that they were about to get fired. He told them that he would give a full report to his dad.

Gail exhibited the traits of a successful man who built rural America. We went into the service at the same time. He continued contributing to Wisner through his church, city bodies, his trucking business, and helping those who were in need. He might not ever have been known as being famous, but he was. He was quiet builder of the heart of America--a great American.

Sorry for your loss. It was my pleasure to work with Gail and you during those Pioneer Seed corn days with Arnold Witte.
Who would ever guessed that we would get to know both of you better after I started my banking career at Citizens in Wisner.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. From both us Bart & Terri Gotch

Thinking of your family. We met Tim through banking and we’ve remained friends. We enjoyed being at your home in Wisner and met both Gail and Jolene. It was obvious that Jolene was the love of his life. Gail was Dave’s kind of man,...farmer, cattle feeder and trucker. We are so sorry for your loss. Just remember he’s in a better place and no longer has pain and suffering. He will be missed by not only the family, but also the community.
