Obituary for Rita Beck
Memorial Mass for Rita (Albers) Beck age 76 of Yutan, NE will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wisner, NE. A luncheon will follow with interment following at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wisner, NE. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner, NE is assisting the family with arrangements.
Rita passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo, NE.
Rita Ann (Albers) Beck was born at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Norfolk, NE, the daughter of Herbert, Sr. and Madeleine (Guinan) Albers. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wisner, NE. She graduated from Wisner High School in 1960 and attended Burnham by the Sea Summer School in Newport, RI. In the fall of 1960 she attended Brenau College in Gainesville, GA, the University of Hawaii in the summer of 1961, and served as the Rush Chairperson for Alpha Gamma Delta at Brenau College in 1962.
On August 24, 1963, Rita was united in marriage to Claude A. Beck, Jr. of Athens, GA. Claude was in retail management, so they were transferred often, beginning in Atlanta, GA, then Memphis, TN, New Orleans, LA, Brookhaven, MS, Memphis, TN, and the last 25 years in Grennville, MS until they retired to Yutan, NE in 1997. The couple operated Beck Market. Rita was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Valley, NE. They were long time supporters of community events and school activities. Rita was involved in numerous civic, church and school organizations throughout the communities in which they lived.
Rita enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, golfing, boating, swimming, and spending time with friends and family. She loved watching her boys play sports and attending their plays and concerts.

Brother-Jim and Jean Albers of West Point, NE

Several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive her.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents-Herb, Sr. and Madeleine Albers, son-John Beck at birth, and brother-Herb Albers, Jr.
