Obituary for Norma J. Rabe
Funeral services for Norma J. Rabe age 91 of Wisner, NE will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE with Pastor Jared Hartman officiating. Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Norma passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Wisner Care Center.
Norma Jean (Zicht) Rabe was born north of Wisner, NE to John and Ethel (Chilcott) Zicht. Norma attended Cuming Co. Rural School and graduated from Wisner High School in 1945.
On August 30, 1945, she was united in marriage to Robert A. Rabe in Marysville, KS. Norma taught rural school and began taking classes to earn her teaching degree. In the early 1970’s, Norma received her Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State College. She continued to teach the 1st Grade at Wisner Elementary until retiring. After retiring, she was a hospice volunteer. In 2003, she moved to Lincoln to be near family and returned to Wisner in 2015.
Norma was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, doing cross stitch and embroidery needlework, tagging along with her husband while he entertained, playing cards and scrabble, and doing the daily Omaha World Herald crossword puzzle. Norma loved spending time with her family and her family loved when she brought her homemade cinnamon rolls.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents-John and Ethel Zicht, huband-Rob Rabe, Sr, on April 3, 2002, son-in-law-Mike McMahon, and three brothers-Russ, Harley and Merle Zicht.
