Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Schmaderer age 89 of West Point, NE will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, NE with Fr. Steve Emanuel celebrating the mass. Interment will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Nielsen Community Center. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from noon to 4:00 p.m., with a Christian Mother's Rosary at 1:30 p.m. followed by a V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #4912 service to follow at the Minnick Funeral Home and will continue from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home.

Mary passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.
Mary Lou (Reichlinger) Schmaderer was born on November 22, 1929 in West Point, NE to Wilbur and Gertrude (Ernesti) Reichlinger. She attended Guardian Angels School and graduated with the Class of 1946. After high school she worked as a bank teller at the First National Bank in West Point, NE.
On October 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert George Schmaderer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, NE. They lived on a farm south of West Point until 2000, when they moved into West Point, NE.
Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, its Christian Mother’s, St. Mary’s Guild, and helped serve funeral dinners. She was also a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #4912 and the St. Francis Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed canning, making lunch at the farm, playing cards, bowling, and word search puzzles, along with making chocolate cakes, chocolate chip cookies and pies.

Schell United States Air Force Academy, Jacob and Hayley, Matthew and Joel, Carrie and Dave Petz of West Point and children-Emily and Cody Howser, Jamie, and Derek; Son- Dave and Kathy Schmaderer of West Point; Son-Tim and Roxanne Schmaderer of West Point and family-Christina and Andy Wilbur of Omaha and children-Cole, and Ty, Cheryl and Neil Spomer of Carmel, IN and children-Rylan and Olivia, Craig and Melissa Schmaderer of Omaha and children-Madeline, Alexander, and Elena, Corinna and Adam Hagedorn of Omaha and children-Abbie, and William; Son-Jeff Schmaderer of West Point and family-Brody and Nicky Schmaderer of Omaha and daughter-Noelia, and Robert Schmaderer of West Point; Son-Ron and Dawn Schmaderer of Omaha and family-Nathan and Katie Schmaderer of Omaha and children-Ava, and Rhett, Amber and Steve Sheppard of Omaha and children-Jace, Cale, and Nash, Jill Schmaderer of Omaha, and Alison and Cody Brdicko of Elkhorn and son Maddox; Shelly and Tom Stratman of West Point and family- Michael and Natalie Stratman of West Point and children-Rexton, Rhoads, and Roni, and Kaitlen Stratman of Omaha. She is also survived by a brother-Dennis Reichlinger of West Point, and sisters-Gertrude Kleffner of Omaha, Joan Johnson of Moses Lake, WA, and Theresa Stecher of West Point.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob on April 12, 2016, and a sister Evelyn Stratmann.
