Obituary for Kathy Nebuda
Funeral services for Kathy Nebuda age 65 of Scribner, NE will be on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Scribner, NE. Interment will be in the Manhattan Cemetery rural Scribner, NE. Visitation will be on Thursday from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE and from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Scribner, with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.
Kathy passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE.
Kathy Sue (Vollmer) Nebuda was born on November 30, 1953 at West Point, NE to VerGene and Janice (Happel) Vollmer. She grew up on a farm southwest of Beemer. Kathy attended Cuming County Rural School and graduated from Beemer High School in 1971. She earned her LPN degree from Platte College School of Practical Nursing in Columbus, NE and later received her Nursing Home Administration Certificate and served as the Administrator at the Pender Nursing Home. Kathy spent much of her career working as an LPN in area nursing homes and especially loved the last ten years spent at the Parkview Home in Dodge, NE.
On April 23, 1977, Kathy was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Nebuda at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, NE. The couple lived on a farm near Dodge and since 1982 have resided on a farm near Scribner, NE.
Kathy was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She enjoyed to crochet- and all the babies got blankets, cooking, animals, and especially loved spending time with her family. She learned to play the accordion and organ at an early age and loved Polka music.

Son-Brian and Bonnie Nebuda of Fremont, NE and children-Luke, John and Rebecca
Son-Kevin Nebuda and Alicia Johnson of Wisner, NE
Daughter-Jennifer and Matt Bryden of Louisville, NE and her son-Braxton Nebuda
Brother-Gayle and Kaina Vollmer of Houston, TX

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents-VerGene and Janice Vollmer, husband-Dick on May 7, 2018, grandson-Jace Nebuda, and parents in law-Wally and Dorothy Nebuda.
