Mass of Christian Burial for Edmund Hagedorn age 85 of West Point, NE will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point with Fr. Steve Emanuel as celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Nielsen Community Center. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service and Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the Alzheimers Association or the American Veterans Park located in West Point, NE in Edmund's name.

Edmund passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.

Edmund John Hagedorn was born on April 22, 1933 at West Point, NE to Henry and Christina (Luebbert) Hagedorn. He attended St. Anthony’s School. Edmund served in the United States Army from June 9, 1953 until he was honorably discharged on May 5, 1955.

On August 3, 1955, he was united in marriage to Joan Diekemper at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, NE. Edmund worked as a hired man on farms, as a janitor at Guardian Angels School and at Grain States Soya. He later did carpentry work for several years.

Edmund was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, was a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council #2272, and was a member of VFW Post #4912. He enjoyed making toys and furniture for his family.
