Obituary for Darlene Heller

Darlene Ann Heller, 89, of Beemer, NE died Dec. 24 at her home.
Funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 31 at 10:30 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beemer, with interment at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in rural Beemer. Visitation is Sunday, Dec. 30 from 4-7 pm and Monday from 9 am until time of service.
Darlene was born Oct. 22, 1929, in Bancroft, NE to Milton and Lillie (Mielke) Rider. She attended high school in Bancroft. Darlene married Henry “Hank” H. Heller on June 22, 1947, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft. The couple moved to the family farm south of Wisner, NE where they raised their children before building a home in Beemer in 1973. Darlene was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, the Out South Ladies Bowling League, and a Charter Member of the Cuming County Historical Society. Hank and Darlene were married for 70 years before Hank’s passing.
Darlene worked together with Hank at Nebraskaland Farm and Home Realty and Heller Insurance Agency in Beemer from 1976 until Hank’s retirement. Darlene was a devoted, gentle, patient, and deeply loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald Rider, and husband.
She is survived by son Zelan (Sarah Emanuel) Heller of Rogers, NE; daughter Roxie (Keenan) Meyer of Pilger, NE; granddaughters Katie (Benjamin) Mattson of Omaha, NE, Lacey (John) Amavi of Maple Grove, MN, and Jenna (Eric) Andrews of Kingsley, IA; grandsons Jamie (Kristina) Meyer of Lincoln, NE, Michael Heller of San Antonio, TX, Matthew (Becky) Heller of Blair, NE, and Andrew Heller of Mankato, MN; great-grandsons Royce, Magnus and Hawken Mattson, and Brock Andrews; great granddaughters Stella and Giorgia Amavi, and Millie and Vivie Heller.
