Obituary for Lavonne Tietz
Funeral services for Lavonne Tietz age 83 of Beemer, NE will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft, NE with Pastor Ryan Seymour officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from noon until the time of the service at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Lavonne passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer, NE.
Lavonne Dorothy (Miller) Tietz was born on December 7, 1935 at West Point, NE to William and Alma (Paulsen) Miller. She was baptized on January 5, 1936 and later confirmed on April 10, 1949 at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft, NE. Lavonne attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from West Point High School in 1953. She attended Wayne State College and received her teaching degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Lavonne taught at Cuming Co. Rural School Districts #54, #21, and #80 and later taught as a substitute teacher at District #22 and Zion Lutheran School.
On September 21, 1966, she was united in marriage to Louis Tietz at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft. The couple resided on a farm southwest of Bancroft.
Lavonne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, its Ladies Guild, and also made floral arrangements for the altar. She was an avid bowler and was the secretary for several leagues and also for the West Point Bowling Association for many years. Lavonne enjoyed gardening, playing cards, quilting, crocheting, but especially enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.

Lavonne was preceded in death by her parents-William and Alma Miller, husband-Louis Tietz on March 28, 1998, brother-Willis Miller, and sister-Ardyce Miller.
