Mass of Christian Burial for Alfrieda Wordekemper age 96 of West Point, NE will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, NE with Fr. Steve Emanuel and her nephew Fr. Daniel Kampschneider as celebrants. Interment will be in the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with a Guild and Christian Mother's Rosary at 1:30 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, that memorials be directed to the Guardian Angels Endowment or the Cuming County Fair Foundation.

Alfrieda passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.

Alfrieda Catherine (Kampschnieder) Wordekemper was born on August 1, 1922 at rural Olean, NE to Lorenz and Elizabeth (Knust) Kampschnieder. She grew up near Olean, NE and attended the Sacred Heart Academy at Olean. On September 12, 1944, she was united in marriage to Leonard Casper Wordekemper at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Olean, NE.

The couple farmed west of West Point, NE until 1999, when they moved into West Point, NE. She has resided at St. Joseph’s Retirement Community the last three years.

Alfrieda was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, its Ladies Guild, Christian Mothers, and the Benefit Hour Extension Club. She enjoyed attending the Cuming Co. Fair every year, gardening, canning, sewing, quilting and baking some of the family favorites-pecan cinnamon rolls, cherry rolls, date pinwheel cookies, and apple pies.
