Obituary for Clarence Gaster

Services for Clarence D. Gaster age 77 of West Point, NE will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE with Rev. Lewis Miller officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday from noon until the time of the service at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE. Interment with Military Honors will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Omaha National Cemetery in Omaha, NE.

Clarence passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer, NE.

Clarence Douglas Gaster was born on July 10, 1941 at home to Levi D. and Clara (Ahrndt) Gaster. He graduated from Beemer High School in 1960 and later received his refrigeration certificate from the Chicago Trades Institute in Chicago, IL.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from December 13, 1963 until he was honorably discharged on December 13, 1965 and continued to serve in the Army Reserves until 1969. He farmed and raised livestock with his brother Roger near West Point most of his life.

Clarence enjoyed attending auctions, swap meets, gun shows, welding and fabricating, hunting and fishing.

Sister-Leona and Skip Horn of Lake City, FL
Brother-James Gaster of Indianola, NE
Brother- Roger and Hope Gaster of West Point, NE

Nieces and Nephews also survive him.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents-Levi and Clara Gaster, and a sister-Doris Grovner, sister-in-law Marilyn Gaster, aunts and uncles.
