Funeral services for Elaine Wachter age 88 of Pilger, NE will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Stanton, NE with Pastor Timothy Booth officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk, NE following the lunch. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service, both at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is handling the arrangements.

Elaine passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at her home.

Elaine Selma (Haase) Wachter was born on the family farm near Hadar, NE to Minne Martha Louisa (Voecks) Haase and Carl Fred Haase. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk, NE. Elaine attended rural school and St. Paul’s Parochial School.

On November 2, 1951, she was united in marriage to Melvin R. Wachter at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk, NE. The couple farmed in Stanton County until 1976.

Elaine enjoyed life to the fullest. Her hobbies included gardening, which led to lots of canning throughout the years. Deer hunting that led her to show her granddaughter and great grandson the importance of patience. She was active in the Norfolk Senior Center Choraliers Group. Elaine had a love for her pets. She loved spending time with her family, watching her grandkids grow up, she was able to travel to Arizona to see her grandson marry the love of his life, and always enjoyed when the great grandkids would come to visit. Elaine was always generous and helped anyone when she could.

Survivors include-
Daughter- Janell Vyborny of Pilger, NE
Granddaughter- Amy (Vyborny) Paulsen and husband Doug of Hoskins, NE and children-
JaShaun Vyborny and Savannah Paulsen
Grandson- Shaun Vyborny and wife Brigette of Tucson, AZ and family-
Brennan Morales and Amelie Vyborny

She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-Dennis, brothers and their spouses- Gilbert and Irene Haase and Harley and Alice Haase.
