Mass of Christian Burial for Norma (Mrs. Kenneth) Hunke age 79 of Dodge, NE will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE. Interment will be in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a public Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE and will continue on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in Dodge is handling the arrangements for the family. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the family for future designation in Norma’s name.

Norma passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Parkview Home in Dodge, NE.

Norma Jean (Cada) Hunke was born on October 14, 1939, to Milo and Vlasta (Karel) Cada on a farm near Clarkson, NE. She attended grade school and high school in Clarkson, graduating as the Valedictorian of the Class of 1958.

On May 26, 1959, she married Kenneth Hunke at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson. They lived on a farm near Dodge for twelve years, and then moved to a farm near Howells in 1971. The retired from farming in 2007, and moved to Dodge.

Norma was a meber of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Tabor, where she was the organist for many years. After moving to Dodge, she became a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. She belonged to the Altar Society and was also a member of the Dodge American Legion Auxiliary.

Bruce and Keri Hunke of Gretna, NE and family-Brooklynn Hunke, Jordyn Frazier, and Garrett Frazier
Brian and Jill Hunke of Columbus, NE and children-Sydney Hunke and Reid Hunke

Norma is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her stillborn twin sister-Naoma, and her sister-Kathy Hoskinson.

She will be missed for her beautiful smile, along with her generous and kind nature.
