Funeral services for Mary (Mrs. Robert) Schlickbernd age 75 of Beemer, NE will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer, NE. Private family burial will be on Saturday in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and will continue on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer. There will be a Holy Cross Catholic Church Women Rosary at 3:00 p.m. and a public Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., both at the church on Thursday. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials be directed by the family to the Nebraska Ataxia Organization.

Mary passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.

Mary Ann (Brunnert) Schlickbernd was born on July 7, 1942 near Dodge, NE to August and Anna (Heer) Brunnert. She attended St. Anthony’s School at St. Charles and graduated from Guardian Angels High School in 1960.

On June 30, 1962, she was united in marriage to Robert Schlickbernd at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church-St. Charles, rural West Point, NE. Mary was busy raising the family and also helped out at Beemer Implement.

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, where she taught CCD and helped decorate the church, she also belonged to the Altar Society. She also had belonged to the Beemer Women’s’ Club, and helped with Girl Scouts.

Mary enjoyed doing a variety of crafts and loved to make Halloween costumes.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brother-Cletus Brunnert, brother-in-law-Ken Kaup, niece-Peggy Taylor, and a nephew in infancy-Brian Brunnert.
