Memorial services for Dick Senden age 76 of West Point, NE will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in West Point, with Rev. Clint Poppe officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present, at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE and will continue on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Dick passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 at his home kicking and fighting.

Dick was born on December 24, 1941 in West Point, NE to Harry and Marian (Marshall) Senden. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in West Point, NE. Dick attended Cuming Co. Rural School and graduated from West Point High School in 1959. He was first employed as a sports writer at the Cuming County Democrat and was a sports reporter for the West Point Radio Station for several years. He later sold insurance for Nebraska Farmer Insurance, before owning and operating the bowling alley in West Point for 25 years.

On January 21, 1967, he was united in marriage to Julie Anderson in Fremont, NE.

Dick was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church, where he had served on the Board of Elders, and served on the West Point Public School Board for 16 years. Dick loved sports, whether playing for the West Point Bombers or coaching his sons in baseball. He was an avid bowler, and loved being outdoors, gardening and mowing lawns.

Survivors include-
His wife of 51 years-Julie Senden of West Point, NE
Sons- David and Janelle Senden of Long Beach, CA and son Hugh
Matt Senden of Omaha, NE and sons-Noah, Andrew and William

Brother- Bob Senden of Kansas.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister-Marilyn Bargmann.
