Graveside services for Don L. Doescher age 84 of Lincoln, NE will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Beemer Cemetery in Beemer, NE with Military Honors. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE is assisting with local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, Don requests that you plant something or give to a charity of your choice in his name.

Don passed away on November 5, 2017.

Don was born on March 26, 1933 in rural Cuming Co., NE to Roy H. and Lucinda (Beckman) Doescher. Don was baptized on April 30, 1933 at home, rural Pender, NE and was later confirmed on April 14, 1946 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Beemer, NE. He graduated from Beemer High School in 1950. He worked for Doescher Transfer after high school. Don served in the U.S. Army from May 5, 1953 to April 12, 1955. Upon being honorably discharged he returned and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, receiving is BS and MS degrees from there.

On April 29, 1985, Don was united in marriage to Konnie Kurtz. Don was employed by the Nebraska Department of Revenue for 39 years as a Systems Administrator until his retirement in October of 1999.

Don was a member of First Plymouth Congregational Church in Lincoln, American Legion, The Nebraska Club, and Audubon Club. He was a Valley Hope Alumni and served as an AA sponsor for many years.

He loved the Huskers, ice cream, playing spider solitaire, and spending time on his computer. He loved nature and tending to his flowers.

Step-daughter-Teri and Ralph Dudley of Riverside, CA
Granddaughter-Dallas and step grandchildren

Sister- Gloria Wegner of Scribner, NE
Nieces and nephews- Louise and Mark Herzinger and family, Julia and Jim Kramer and family, Linda Wegner and boyfriend Kevin Kenney, David and Kay Wegner and family, and Herman Wegner

Aunt- Dottie Doescher of Beemer, NE
