Obituary for Ronald Meyer

Memorial Services for Ronald Meyer age 80 of West Point, NE will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Church in West Point, NE with Pastor Les Parmenter officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is handling the arrangements.

Ronald passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.

Ronald Dwayne Meyer was born on September 15, 1937 at West Point, NE to Edwin Paul and Martha (nee Fauth) Meyer. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft, NE. Ron attended Cuming Co. District #22, Zion Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from West Point High School in 1955. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, NE.

Ron worked at Calandra Camera in Omaha, NE for several years. After returning, he partnered with Ralph Buse and started B & M Motor Repair, which later became Meyer Electric.

On December 12, 1972, he married Ramona (Johnson) Vaughn.

Ron was a 4-H instructor for many years, enjoyed repairing camera’s and photography. He also reloaded shells for hunters and loved visiting with friends.

Step-daughter- Gayle Cameron and Tom Hogue of Turin, IA
Grandson-Jeremy and Gail Cameron of Blencoe, IA and family-
Brandon Kropf, Becca Kropf, Nicholas Cameron, Kayla Cameron & Kenzie Cameron
Brothers- Delwin Meyer of West Point, NE
Gregory and Diane Meyer of Elm Grove, WI and son Peter Meyer of Milwaukee, WI
Sister- Susan and Duane Pagels of Beemer, NE and son Devon Pagels of Beemer and his son Quentin Pagels
Nephews- Michael Meyer and family of Dallas, TX
Andrew Meyer and family of Virginia

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Ramona in 1995, grandson-Nicholas Cameron, and a brother-Lloyd J. Meyer.
