Funeral services for Gerald D. Ackerman age 70 of Beemer, NE will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer, NE with Rev. Ryan Seymour officiating. There will be a luncheon following in the church basement and interment will be in the Beemer Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is in charge of the arrangements.

Gerald Dean Ackerman, age 70, passed away on March 28, 2016, at the Wisner Care Center.

Gerald was born on April 16, 1945, to Warren and Orphia (Raasch) Ackerman. He was a lifetime resident of the Beemer area. Like his father, Gerald farmed and drove truck his whole life.

Gerald is survived by his mother, Orphia, sister-in-law Jean (Schneider) Ackerman, niece Brittney Orin Ackerman, and close friend and caregiver Brooke (Liermann) Combs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren; brothers Gale and Orin; and sister, JoAnn.
