Obituary for Cecil M. Eschliman

Funeral services for Cecil M. Eschliman age 91 of Wisner, NE will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Cecil passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Norfolk Veterans Home in Norfolk, NE.

Cecil Marvin Eschliman was born on May 20, 1922 at Greeley, NE to George E. and Nancy (Perry) Eschliman. Cecil attended Greeley Public School and before graduating enlisted in the United States Navy in February of 1942. He served on the USS Case and was honorably discharged in October of 1945. He came to Wisner and worked at the Albers Dehy Plant for several years. On August 20, 1950, he was united in marriage to Magdalene Rabe at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. He was later employed by Beemer Hardware for over 25 years.

Cecil was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, was a life member of Wisner V.F.W. Post #5767 and had served on the Wisner Fire Department for 20 years.

Mary Beth Eschliman of Norfolk, NE
Robert and wife Linda Eschliman of Lincoln, NE
Grandchildre and Great Grandchildren- Heather and Tim Neorrlinger and family-Abra, Layton, Claire, Spencer & Micah; Matthew and Ellie Eschliman and family-Braydon & Serenity; Chelsea Eschliman; Melissa and Matthew Behrens and son Everett; and Logan Eschliman

Brothers- Francis and wife Carol Eschliman of Twin Falls, ID
George Eschliman of Omaha, NE
Sister- JoAnna Hemmingson of St. Edward, NE

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Cathy Jo, five brothers and three sisters.
