Obituary for Russell Eugene Vanderworker

Funeral services for Russell Vanderworker age 80 of West Point, NE will be on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in West Point, NE with Pastor Richard Bringewatt officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and will continue on Tuesday from 9 a.m. till service time at the church.

Russell passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the West Point Living Center.

Russell Eugene Vanderworker was born April 29, 1931 at Hernell, New York to Frank and Nina (Merrell) Vanderworker. He grew up in New York. He served in the United States Army from 1948 to 1952. On August 5, 1950, he was united in marriage to Vernita Wegner at Govenors Island, New York. The couple lived at Long Island, New York and Russell was a machinist in the aviation industry. They retired and moved to West Point, NE, where Russell worked part-time at West Point Implement and Design. He enjoyed fishing, boating and being outdoors. Russell was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, its Lutheran Laymens League and had been a member of the American Legion.

Dawn Marie Vanderworker of Seaford, DE and children-Sarah, Faith & Sophie
Tracy Lynn Vanderworker of Seaford, DE
Brother- Bud Maas of Stony Brook, NY
Sister-Norma Steele of Arizona

Russell was preceded in death by his father and several brothers and sisters.
