Obituary for Lucille Schultz

Funeral services for Lucille Schultz age 83 of West Point, NE will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in West Point, NE with Pastor Richard Bringewatt officiating. Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery following the luncheon. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and will continue on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Lucille passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Wisner Care Center.

Lucille Ynetta (Gooding) Schultz was born on April 7, 1935 near Lomax, IL to Thomas and Alethea (Bradfield) Gooding. Lucille attended rural school and graduated from Terra Haute High School in 1953. She attended Quincy Business School in Quincy, IL. Lucille worked as a bookkeeper for a Filling Station and Feed Store.

On October 22, 1960, she was united in marriage to Leland Schultz in Stronghurst, IL. The couple lived in West Point, where Lucille worked for several local business before working and managing the Gas n’ Shop for several years. She also helped with Leland’s construction business.

Lucille was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point, it’s Ladies Aid and an area Quilter’s Guild. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, playing solitaire and the family loved her dumpling homemade noodles and chocolate chip cookies.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Leland on Sept. 16, 2008, stepson-in-law-Clinton Terkildsen, brothers-Arthur, Russell and Chester Gooding, and sisters-Mildred Bowen, Wilma Miller and Pricilla Markay.
