Mass of Christian Burial for Ralph H. Baumert age 76 of Dodge, NE will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE with Fr. An Du Phan as celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will be in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at the church and will continue on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge is handling the arrangements for the family.

Ralph passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Ralph Henry Baumert was born on March 21, 1942 on a farm near Aloys, NE to Vincent and Ann (Ridder) Baumert. He attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and graduated from Dodge High School in 1960. Ralph served in the United States Army and was stationed in Panama. After being honorably discharged he returned and worked for Scribner Grain and later for Smeal Manufacturing for over 20 years.

On June 20, 1964, he was united in marriage to Linda Kaup at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder, NE. Ralph also farmed and raised hogs.

Ralph was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and had served on its parish council. He also served on the Webster Township Board for many years.

Ralph enjoyed woodworking, spending time with the grandkids giving them four-wheeler rides, and getting in the vehicle and taking a drive.

Jennifer and Jason Sturek of Pender, NE and family-Layne, Kylie, Leah & Blake

Sisters- Rita and Tom Maille of Omaha, NE
Shirley and Jim Kroenke of Fremont, NE
Brother-in-law- Bernard Reznicek of Fremont, NE
Nieces and nephews also survive him.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents-Vincent and Ann Baumert and a sister-Sophie Reznicek.
