Dorothy "Dottie"  Doescher
Funeral services for Dorothy "Dottie" Doescher age 90 of Beemer, NE will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer, NE with Pastor Ryan Seymour officiating. Interment will be in the Beemer Cemetery with a VFW Auxiliary Post #4912 ceremony. Visitation will be on Wednesday 12:00 p.m. until the service at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner, NE is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to the Beemer Senior Center.

Dottie passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Dorothy “Dottie” Bloedorn was born on August 27, 1927 at Wisner, NE to Herman and Martha (Stoekel) Bloedorn. She was baptized on September 11, 1927 by Rev. J.H. Tegeler and later confirmed on April 6, 1941 by Rev. G.A. Zoch at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Dottie attended Wisner Public School.

On March 15, 1947, she was united in marriage to Edwin Doescher. The couple lived in Beemer, where she co-owned Doescher Transfer and was Secretary-Treasurer of the company for fifty-five years.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beemer and was also a member of West Point VFW Auxiliary Post #4912 since 1975.

Those left behind are, one daughter, Sharon and her husband Randall Bauter of Bayside, WI, and 2 sons, Clay and his wife Jolene Doescher of Beemer, NE and Kurt and his wife Deb Doescher also from Beemer, NE. Four grandchildren, Russel and wife Lisa Doescher of Beemer, Bradley and his wife Katie Bauter of Germantown, WI, Margo Doescher of Beemer and Sierra Doescher of Beemer. 2 step grandsons, Mike and his wife Penalope Engelmeyer of Phoenix, AZ and Terry and his wife Misty Engelmeyer of Lincoln, NE, and six great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, and her sister Herda Brand of Wisner, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edwin Doescher, sisters, Edna Means and Adeline Brand, and her brother Art Bloedorn.
