Harriet passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Wisner Care Center.

Harriet Jamine (Trennepohl) Ludwig was born on February 20, 1934 at Oakdale, NE to Bernard and Dorritt (Durre) Trennepohl. She was baptized on April 21, 1935 at the Methodist Church in Clearwater, NE. Harriet graduated from Neligh High School in 1952.

On February 6, 1955, she was united in marriage to Andrew Ludwig at the First Methodist Church in Norfolk, NE. Harriet was confirmed on June 30, 1955 at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Wisner, NE. The couple lived on a farm south of Wisner, where Harriet maintained two large gardens that stocked the freezer and cellar with vegetables. She also raised hundreds of chickens and ducks over the years and sold eggs in town to her many loyal egg customers. As if being busy outside wasn’t enough, she sewed clothing for herself, Denise and quite a few Barbie dolls. In addition to sewing, Harriet was avid with crochet, knitting and needle point. Even after retirement and moving into Wisner, Harriet continued with her crafts and gardening just on a smaller scale.

Harriet was a member of Zion-St. John Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid, and Quilting Guild. She was also a member of the Wisner VFW Auxiliary Post #5767. She enjoyed bowling, whether it was afternoon ladies league or evening mixed, doubles league with Andy. They also enjoyed playing pitch with other couples, dancing the two-step whenever there was a party or being with their VFW friends.
