Memorial services for Karen Wendt age 80 of West Point, NE will be on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in West Point, NE with Pastor Richard Bringewatt officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Winside, NE following lunch at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is handling the arrangements for the family.

Karen passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Country View Assisted Living in Wayne, NE.

Karen June Wendt was born on May 26, 1937 in Stuart, NE to Delbert and Sarah Lucille (Putnam) Doty. In her early years, the family lived in several towns, due to her father’s job in construction. Karen graduated from Wayne High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Dick Risor.

Karen worked at Fred’s Fireside Restaurant in Norfolk, G&G Fashions in Norfolk, and various other restaurants over the years. She was later married to Richard Wendt.

Karen was a resident of the Somerset Aprartments in West Point, NE prior to living at Country View Assisted Living in Wayne, NE.

Karen was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point and enjoyed attending the Sunshine Center in West Point for meals and activities. She enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, arts and crafts.
