Obituary for Ivalo White

Funeral services for Ivalo White age 83 of West Point, NE will be on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, NE with Pastor Carl Kramer officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and will continue on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. There will be a American Legion Auxiliary Post #70 and V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #4912 Service at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Ivalo passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer, NE.
Ivalo June (Meier) White was born on April 28, 1934 in West Point, NE to Edward and Marie (Herrmann) Meier. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, NE. Ivalo attended Cuming Co. Rural School through the 8th Grade and graduated from West Point High School in 1952. Ivalo was united in marriage to Donald White on December 13, 1953.
Ivalo worked for a short time at Allen Bernard’s Insurance Office and in 1953 went to work for First National Bank in West Point as a bookkeeper. She worked at First National for over 44 years before retiring. Ivalo also did bookkeeping for several individuals over the years and worked at the West Point Vet’s Club.
Ivalo was a life member and was very active at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. She was a member of the West Point V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #4912, West Point American Legion Post #70, was involved in the Cornhusker Boys’ and Girls’ State program for many years, a member of St. Francis Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a member of West Point Fireman’s Auxiliary, and was a member of the National Association of Bank Women. She served on the West Point High School Foundation Board, and was treasurer for the Cuming County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
She enjoyed knitting, watching all sports, spending time with friends at the Sunshine Center, and going “across the river with the girls.”

Amanda and Reid Genuchi and son- Elias of Tecumseh, NE
Brother- Milton Meier of Beemer, NE
Ivalo was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Donald White on December 27, 1978, sisters- Lila Johnson, Ethel Becker, Laverne Holtz, and Evelyn Wiese, and brothers- Marvin Meier and Rolan Meier.
