Funeral services for Ken Donner age 61 of Wisner, NE will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Christ in Wisner, NE. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at church.
Ken passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Valentine, NE.
Ken was born on November 14, 1955 at Yankton, SD to Ralph and Irma (Goeller) Donner. He attended Beemer Elementary School and graduated from Wisner-Pilger High School in 1974. Ken attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
On February 11, 1978, he was united in marriage to Jan Bowling at the United Church of Christ in Pierce, NE. Ken worked at Rivers Metal Products in Lincoln, NE as a metal fabricator. They moved to Wisner and he owned and operated Donner Metal Products and later worked for Bear Services.
Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, and canoe trips. He had a love for nature. He enjoyed trees, serving on the Wisner Tree Board, and was a master tree surgeon. Ken got involved in bee keeping and made his own maple syrup. He was a member of the Wisner Fire Department, where he served as Assistant Fire Chief for many years, and served as an ambulance driver for the Rescue Department.

Mary Donner of Wisner, NE
Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive Ken.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-Nanette.
