Funeral services for Henry "Hank" H. Heller age 90 of Beemer, NE will be on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer, NE. Interment with Military Honors will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Beemer. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will continue on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at St. John's Lutheran Church, Beemer, NE. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is in charge of the arrangements.

Henry passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer, NE.

Henry Herman Frederick Heller, Jr. was born on April 5, 1926 on the farm south of Wisner, NE to Henry, Sr. and Anna (Daberkow) Heller. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Beemer, NE. Henry attended Cuming Co. Rural School District #9, St. John’s Parochial School, and graduated from Wisner High School in 1943. After graduation he farmed with his brother Andy. He served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1946-1947.

On June 22, 1947, he was united in marriage to Darlene Rider at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft, NE. The couple moved to the family farm south of Wisner, where he also was a Feed Salesman, did custom baling, and was a Farm Bureau Insurance Representative. Henry later went to work as a representative for Farmers Mutual Insurance and the couple built a new home in Beemer, moving into it in 1973. Henry was instrumental in forming the first hog co-op in Cuming County. He later started Nebraskaland Farm and Home Realty in 1976 and operated it until his retirement.

Henry was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beemer, Beemer American Legion Post #159, and the Cuming Co. Historical Society, where he served as its first president. He loved genealogy, collecting tokens, where he belonged to a Token Collecting Club. He and Darlene enjoyed traveling and especially spending time in Branson, MO the last several years. He was a pilot and loved flying in his younger years.

Lacey (John) Amavi of Maple Grove, MN and daughter Stella
Jenna (Eric) Andrews of Kingsley, IA and son Brock

Brother-Andy (Lillian) Heller of Wisner, NE
Sister- Anna Mae Breitkreutz of Wisner, NE

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, sister-Henrietta Kruse and a brother-in-law- Francis Breitkruetz.
